What is a dream? ☁

I've often catch myself pondering random philosophical questions and I'm sure others have too.
One that I've been thinking about lately is,
What is a dream? Why do we have these dreams?

Almost every night before I fall asleep, thoughts and imagination explodes all throughout my mind. Ask anyone, dreams are awesome. I love them of course. I used to not have them as often as I do now, which is weird. The fact that they're so unique and changeable each time is so fascinating. Dreams are just so crazy in general.
I wonder why we have nightmares. I used to have nightmares ever so often when I was a child; but now, I never do. Even when I watch a scary movie like in my last post; I'm terrified of scary movies yet, I never have a scary based dream.

Ya know those dreams where you have the world or you are the hero to some specific person? Maybe those are some confidence boosters to your real life. I think dreams are there to comfort you, make you feel better. Or maybe those nightmares are too keep you cautious and on your toes about what's going on around you. I think dreams and emotions are mutual to each other, like mood effects dream and dream affects mood.
I know that this post is about such a broad topic but, who doesn't like to think about big questions like that?

Happy dreaming

  1. Lexi, I really enjoyed reading both of your blog posts this week, and I like how you picked defined topics and made them interesting. For your reading log, remember vocabulary does not count (but work you did on your literary analysis does).
